9 Months and Active!
Adelaide turned 9 months old a couple of days ago (like 6) and she is doing awesome!
- She continues to climb stairs like a pro- if she starts climbing and she hears you coming to get her, she tries to go super fast. So funny!
- She laughs/smiles when you tell her "No" and she'll do it again.
- She babbles alot. She loves to talk and sometimes sing.
- Anytime there's music playing, which is often in our house, she loves to dance.
- She loves playing on the keyboard.
- She loves to be on the floor more than anything. She just wants to be active and moving. Sometimes she'll crawl around on the floor and Caleb will get down on his hands and knees, too and they will crawl around together. It's super sweet.
- When she gets really excited, she moves her wrists and her ankles, moving her hands and feet around in circles.
- When she's proud of herself or otherwise excited, she takes both hands and bangs them on whatever is in front of her over and over again (instead of clapping).
- She smiles constantly.
- She is starting to develop a little more stranger anxiety, but still will go to anyone, at least for a little while.
-She's definitely a mama's girl.
- She had her first trip to the hospital , just for a couple of hours, because she had croup.
- Her first Halloween, she was a Cabbage patch kid. Super cute, but she was sick, so we stayed home, while the boys went to Sandy's with the rest of Jeff's family for a party.
- She stands up and will let go, but starts bouncing and only last for a few seconds before she holds onto whatever again or falls to the ground.
- If you ask her to stand up, she will look for the nearest thing to pull up on.
- She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth.
- If she has something in her mouth and you ask her to spit it out, she will.
- She gives great kisses on the mouth or cheek. It's precious.
- As you can see, she has pretty good language skills developing. :)
- She smiles at strangers all the time.
- She just transitioned out of her infant carrier into a bigger carseat.
- She makes the weirdest noises, and will imitate us.
- She knows when she's being cute or funny.
- She likes to grab faces.
- She starting to like books and she loves looking at pictures of people and having me explain who they are to her.
- She was sick for a couple of weeks and had turned into a little bit of a cuddler- I certainly can't complain about that.
- She just had her first cheerios about a week and a half ago and she loves them.
- She loves bananas, peas, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, apples (but not applesauce- the texture maybe?), green beans, cookies (duh), mashed potatoes, bread, peaches, pears. She prefers her food not pureed completely, she prefers a little texture, you know. This week we're gonna try strawberries! :)
- She pretty much tries what we eat- though she doesn't eat three meals a day yet. She eats maybe only once a day and a snack... she's probably ready for more food though.
- She's super independent about everything. She doesn't like when we hold her hands to help her walk, she'd rather crawl or walk holding furniture. She doesn't like to be fed, she'd rather attempt to feed herself.
- She really loves playing with Caleb.
- She loves "If you're happy and and you know it", "The Wheels on the Bus", "Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam", "I Keep So Busy Praisin' My Jesus", "Motor Boat, Motor Boat" (more of an action play then a song).
- She weighs 20 lbs and 2 oz., I think. She's 29 inches tall and her head is a circumference of 17. She's in the 80th percentile for weight (dropped from the 88th) and in the 90th percentile for height. My big girl. She's wearing mostly 12 month clothes- a couple of things still fit her in the 9 month range.
As you can see, she's got a lot of preferences and she's independent. She's an awesome baby and I know I say this every month, but I just love her to pieces. I feel so blessed to have her and Caleb a part of my life. :) I'm one blessed mama.
Picture time!! :)

Yeah, I know, this post is about Adelaide... but I don't post about Caleb too much these days and well, he's the best boy. |
Okay, this one cracks me up. Adelaide really wanted that pumpkin for herself. |
