Camping Trip

So, we took our first camping trip this weekend... kind of.

I had really wanted to go camping this weekend and had been talking about it all week (and really for a couple of weeks). Well, it rained all day Friday and Jeff thought it'd be too hard to set up the tent in the rain, especially with a little baby, plus he still hasn't been sleeping fabulously, so he suggested that we go camping in our living room. It was actually pretty fun. We turned out the lights, and used a flashlight to see. We put away the computer and didn't think of turning on the tv. We played Five Crowns inside the tent, with only the light of the flashlight. We also turned off the AC and opened the windows- it felt great and still sounded like we were outside. It was kind of nice to sort of get back to the basics. The wee one actually started out in his crib while we got things set up and then once he started fussing, he joined us in the tent. He woke up very often throughout the night, so we really didn't sleep super well, but it made me even more glad that we did the trial run in our living room.

Enjoy the pictures from our "trip"! :)

Jeff didn't want to smile because he didn't want people to think that he was enjoying himself. :)

Eating his newly discovered hands while we put up the tent.

I finally convinced him to smile.

Pretending that he's sleeping.

Having fun and playing games.

My sweet boy and me.

This is just to show how he likes to sleep.

Don't let this full you. :)

  1. Wow! Sounds like a fun pretend trip. Great way to accommodate difficult circumstances. We keep saying someday we'll take the kids camping, but it definitely will be a while before we do.

  3. Anytime you want to go real camping let me and Stephen know. We'd love to go with you. Stephen says: we're your hookup, or we'll pitch a tent in the kitchen and you can pitch one in the living room. Lol
